Creative Arts K–10 Syllabus Development

NESA has commenced review of the Creative Arts K–6 syllabus to incorporate Australian curriculum content. In developing the draft syllabus, NESA will follow its established syllabus development process.

Consultation on the draft directions opens on Monday 26 June 2017 until Sunday 20 August 2017.  See the schedule for consultation meetings to register your attendance.

Consultation opportunities

NESA seeks your feedback on the draft directions, which can be viewed or downloaded.

Feedback may be provided by:

  • attending a consultation meeting
  • completing the online survey
  • providing a written submission.

Consultation meetings

Consultation meetings are free and will be held at locations across NSW from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. They provide an opportunity to hear from the KLA Inspector about the Creative Arts K–6 Draft Directions for Syllabus Development, discuss ideas with teachers from other schools, and provide group or individual feedback to NESA.

Discussion during consultation meetings will refer directly to the Creative Arts K–6 Draft Directions. Please bring a hard copy or electronic copy of the Creative Arts K–6 Draft Directions for Syllabus Development to the consultation meeting.

Completing a consultation meeting will contribute to 2 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
