Draft outcomes (Early Stage 1 to Stage 3) for Mathematics K-6 have been distributed to schools. These outcomes are based on the content of the Mathematics K-6 Syllabus. The outcomes are organised under five broad objectives: Working Mathematically, Number, Space, Measurement, and Values and Attitudes.
The collection of student work samples will be undertaken in conjunction with consultation on the draft outcomes.
The Board of Studies endorsed the development of
curriculum integration support material at its March meeting. This material,
entitled Linkages, will be released on CD-ROM. Drafting of material for the
Linkages CD-ROM will commence later this term. The project aims to provide
teachers with answers to the following questions:
The CD-ROM will include findings from research in the area of curriculum integration, examples of integrated units of work using outcomes, and interviews with classroom teachers and researchers.
The Japanese K-6 Syllabus is now available to schools. It can be ordered by teachers of Japanese in NSW primary schools by faxing requests on the school's letterhead to the Board of Studies Client Services Unit on fax (02) 9367 8479.
