The Board of Studies K–6 website is a useful resource for teachers of Kindergarten to Year 6 students, containing the latest syllabuses, support materials and units of work.
The following pages have been designed to help you navigate your way around the website and take advantage of the valuable resources on offer.
The Board of Studies K–6 website can be accessed by typing the following address into the address bar on your web browser: k6.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au
Alternatively, you can enter the website by clicking on ‘K TO 6 WEBSITE’ on the Board of Studies main website at www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au
If you have typed the address correctly, your web browser should take you to the Board of Studies K–6 website which looks like this:

The home page of the K–6 website features links to syllabuses and support documents in each of the key learning areas – Creative Arts, English, PDHPE, Mathematics, Human Society and its Environment, Science and Technology, and Languages.
Clicking on the desired key learning area (KLA) will take you to a page containing the syllabus and a list of resources that relate to that KLA. For example, the Mathematics Key Learning Area page contains a number of documents that are available for downloading. These include the Mathematics K–6 Syllabus, Sample Units of Work, support documents and the K–10 Mathematics Writing Brief.
The K–6 Linkages page is one of the most popular pages on the K–6 website. K–6 Linkages is an ongoing curriculum project aimed at identifying related content and outcomes across the six key learning areas and stages in the K–6 curriculum that can be integrated in units of work and learning activities. This process is known as curriculum integration. The Linkages page can be accessed by clicking the ‘K–6 Linkages’ button on the home page of the K–6 website.

On the K–6 Linkages website you will find multistage units of work, literature and research on curriculum integration, the Board’s guiding statement on curriculum integration, reference material and teacher devised units of work.

Here you can find links to many useful websites related to the K–6 curriculum. The links are arranged by subject and provide a range of materials for teachers, parents and students. Each link includes a brief outline of the information you can expect to find at the site.
Scroll down the home page of the K–6 website and on the left you will find K–6 Outcomes for all KLAs. This useful document contains the outcomes for all key learning areas, allowing teachers to download the information as a single Word or Acrobat PDF document.
On the left-hand side of the front page of the K–6 website there is a link to the consultation paper, Defining Mandatory Outcomes in the K–6 Curriculum. Clicking on this link will take you to the Consultation Paper section of the website.
At the top of this page you will find another link titled Consultation paper. Links to units of work. By clicking this link and then scrolling halfway down the page you will find a Summary of Units of Work section, which contains further links all units of work across all stages of the primary curriculum.
